Well, everyone’s writing about it I’m sure. But what other purpose does this blog serve?

It’s slow. It’s really slow. Horribly slow. Can type several words in a text message, URL, etc, before any words appear on the screen slow.

Not all the time, mind. Maybe about a quarter of the time. Often enough to be annoying.

It also brings back the horrible pre-2.2 thing of trying to latch onto 3G signals that are too weak to be useful, thus making your phone out of range and unable to receive calls even when there’s a perfectly good non-3G signal to be had. And it takes absolutely ages for the “wifi” symbol to appear, even when the control panel says it’s connected to wifi, so you’re never quite sure what connection you’ve got for the first minute of use.

The extra features vaguely make up for all of this, but frankly I’d rather they’d not taken a massive step backwards with the speed and snappiness. I hope it doesn’t take 6 months like with OS 2.2 to get back to the same point.
